We offer sustainable, locally-sourced fresh food and drink in ten cafes across the city-centre campus and the north campus, including John Bull Cafe.

Students can also find a number of food and drink outlets in the .
We pride ourselves on offering a variety of affordable, delicious food and drink options with a variety of themed food options in each cafe.
We have installed a new till system in all our units across campus.
We are working hard in the background to bring you a brand-new app-based loyalty programme with new offers and deals! 
Just a reminder that the hot drink loyalty points offer utilising your staff and student card is no longer valid, and payment via these methods is no longer accepted.
We have held a three-star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association for multiple years, which reflects our company's achievements in sustainable sourcing, reducing disposable packaging, lowering meat intake, and more.

We have added the carbon impact of our dishes on many of our menus to enable customers to make choices that are better for the planet. We understand that what we eat can have a big impact on the environment, with food production estimated to account for a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Our goal is to reduce the number of disposable cups used, which are then disposed of on campus. Use a reusable cup at our campus cafes and get a 20p discount.
 
To ensure a safe and efficient payment method for everyone, the University operates a cashless campus. This means that cash payments are not accepted for any of our food and drink outlets or shops, including the Studentsñޙ Union. We accept payment by credit cards, debit cards, pre-paid cards and mobile devices.
Catering supplied by educational institutions to students (including meals in school/university canteens or refectories) is generally exempt from VAT. This applies when the food is provided directly by the institution or as part of their education provision. However, VAT applies to meals served to staff, visitors, or from commercial campus shops.

The Container Cafe
Business student Shaina Salan and PhD Geologist Dylan Beard have coffee at the Container Café, Crosspoint in the Roland Levinsky Building.
Visit the Universityñޙs most unique cafe on campus, with a focus on high-quality handmade food, which is created on campus by our Hospitality catering team. 

The Container cafe's food and drink is a continuation of the Hospitality Shop, with The Container being the collection point for food boxes and other food supplies: picnic boxes, sweet treats, bakes, and breakfast croissants, bagels, as well as hot and cold drinks from a barista using Fairtrade, organic coffee locally roasted from Owen's Coffee.

Sourcing food and drink from local and sustainable companies is crucial to the catering team at the University, and we're pleased to be collaborating with a diverse range of Devon and Cornwall businesses. 

Sustainability is at the core of the cafe with innovative environmental initiatives in place, including the use of a milk pergal to minimise plastic bottles, offering minimal single-use plastic, and all packaging and napkins made from sustainable plant-based or recycled materials.
