About Russell
Dr Russell Evans is a writer and artist, working in visual poetry and creative nonfiction. His poetry comics have been publishedÌý in Heavy Feather Review (issue 12), 3AM magazine (November 2022) and CWP Journal (Fall 2022 issue) and a collection was published in 2025 byÌý.
Evans' research interests are currently focusing on poetry and entropy, applying Shannon entropy to explore poetry; and psycho-geology, deep time, folklore and groundwater. He is leading a research Impact Project on social prescription in ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ investigating the uses of arts to alleviate mental health issues.
Evans was a freelance magazine writer for twelve years, working for UK consumer magazines as well asÌýThe Guardian, focusing on film and media. He has twoÌýÌýpublished in the US for Routledge imprint Focal Press, both of which are translated into Spanish. His art work has been exhibited in the UK, Italy and New York and he is an artist member of Blue Door Art Center, Yonkers, New York.
