The Annual Mayflower Lecture is a series of lectures that began with the first Pilgrim Fathers Lecture delivered by Lord Bingham in 1994.
The lecture, which by tradition embodies themes of freedom and human rights, commemorates the voyage of the Mayflower in 1620 which is described by some as one of the most influential journeys in global history and as a defining moment in the relationship between Britain, the USA and the Netherlands.
Established by the ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Law Society and hosted by the ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ and ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ City Council, the lecture has become a celebrated annual event in the legal profession calendar, attracting current and past Lord Chancellors, Lord Justices of Appeal and Lords of Appeal.
