These new announcements represent a really important stage in ÂÌñ»»ÆÞÂÌñ»»ÆÞ™s defence investment journey.
Mr Adrian Dawson
Director of Strategic Project Development
We pledged a Defence Growth Deal for ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ and IÂÌñ»»ÆÞ™m delighted to be here today to deliver on that promise. This £50m investment will see ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ stay a world leader in maritime autonomy by making it easier for its defence businesses, creating hundreds of good jobs and boosting the defence industry across the South West. ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ is already vital for the UKÂÌñ»»ÆÞ™s defence, with the largest naval base in Western Europe at HMNB Devonport providing the backbone of the UKÂÌñ»»ÆÞ™s submarine fleet. Defence investment in ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ isnÂÌñ»»ÆÞ™t just good for the city, it directly strengthens the UKÂÌñ»»ÆÞ™s ability to keep our seas safe and our country secure.
