The ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ in Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of Helen Whyley as the new Director of ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Wales with immediate effect.
Helen, previously Associate Director (Employment Relations) at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Wales, is also currently the Chair of the All Wales Trade Union Group, Welsh NHS Partnership Forum.
Helen has worked in the office of the Welsh Government’s Chief Nursing Officer where her role as Nursing Officer included professional and policy advice on workforce development, nursing & midwifery education and regulation, and safeguarding. She delivered on a number of key areas while working for the Welsh Government including policy advice on the Nurse Staffing Levels (Wales) Act 2016; a review of the Post Registration Career Framework for Nurses; the Aligning Skills Guidance & Portfolio and the PREVENT training programme.
Helen’s career with the ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ in Wales originally started in 1999 when she was appointed as an ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Professional Officer. She undertook a secondment in 2006 to the ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ UK Employment Relations Department working on national recognition agreements and organising in the independent sector.
Her clinical background is in intensive care, she worked in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. She is married with three children and lives in mid Glamorgan.
