Following a number of webinars over recent years, we're delighted to announce the 绿帽换妻 Critical Care and Flight Nursing Conference returns in-person at the 绿帽换妻 headquarters in London.
This year’s conference theme; “Care in the air: navigating the patient journey’”.

Learning outcomes
• Follow the journey of a patient from start to finish by highlighting the role of the case managers, understanding the various clinical and logistical considerations of aeromedical transfer and reflecting on the role of the flight nurse.

Kim Hoolahan
I qualified as a nurse in the Middlesex Hospital in London, back in the days when we wore quaint and very impractical hats. After a stint as a staff nurse in gynae, I worked in ICU at the National Hospital for Nervous diseases in Queens Square, where I also completed my neurosurgical and neurosurgical nursing course. My career then took an international turn, working in ICU's in Saudi Arabia and Australia, coming back to the UK at intervals to work in ICU in Portsmouth. During this time, I learned of Cega and joined as a flight nurse. This was in the days where we had our own air ambulances and so I carried out many ICU/ventilated repatriations, as well as commercial flights. I was persuaded to work in the office and, much to my surprise found it interesting and rewarding. For several years I had a mixture of office work, flight bank and ICU nursing. Each complimenting the other. I was then promoted to a managerial post and gave up my wings.
I have for several years now, been the medical team manager at Cega/Charles Taylor. This is a very challenging and rewarding role with a team of 23 nurses and 11 Doctors. The caseloads are invariably high, with patients in all corners of the world with any medical condition you could think of and sometimes with conditions that I have never heard of. It sounds like a cliché, but every dayreally is a learning day. I feel incredibly lucky to have had such an interesting career with roles that I have truly been passionate about.
Adam Booth
Adam qualified as RGN in 2004 at Brighton University, during his training he worked as a HCA in the emergency department at Eastbourne district general hospital. On completion he worked as a Staff Nurse in the same department, becoming experienced in all aspects of emergency/urgent care.
In 2006 he joined the South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) as part of a pilot program to bring other healthcare professionals into the role of Emergency Care Practitioner, with an aim to reduce hospital admissions and conveyance by ambulance crews. He completed his autonomous practitioner (now the Advanced Paramedic Practitioner) training at St. Georges University, London, this enabled him to gain a great deal of experience working in the pre hospital environment supporting staff both on the road and remotely from the control room, Adam also enjoyed training new staff as a mentor. He was then offered to commence his Paramedic training so he could become dual registered, this was completed at St. Georges University, London. He still works for Secamb on a regular basis. For the past 10 years Adam has been involved in the assistance industry, from remote support to personally completing repatriations worldwide, gaining a broad understanding of all aspects involved in the complexities related to planning a safe repatriation.
In 2023 Adam setup his own company Repatriation Medical Services with Georgie, who is an active NHS ICU Nurse and part of the 绿帽换妻 forum for critical care and flight nursing.
Clare Whelan
Clare Whelan graduated from University of Liverpool in 2010 and gained experience in Accident & Emergency from various Northwest hospitals. She completed a Diploma in Tropical Nursing at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine before volunteering in Costa Rica and Nicaragua as a field medic for Raleigh International. She started her career at Healix International as an ad hoc flight nurse in 2015 before joining as a medical case manager in 2016. She has been a Team Leader since 2019 and oversees a team of nurses and coordinators managing medical care and evacuations for patients unwell away from home.
Emma Bibby
Emma Bibby is the Deputy Nurse Manager for Aviation and Maritime, MedAire – an International SOS company. Emma has held this role since May 2023, prior to which she worked as a Coordinating Nurse on the International SOS Medical and Security Assistance Platforms. Emma completed her nursing training at Kings College London, working as a health care assistant alongside studies. On qualifying she worked in acute medical admissions and rotated across various critical care specialties. She maintained critical care experience throughout her time with International SOS, continuing to work with her old trust. Within her current role, Emma is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Business-General-Aviation (BGA – private jets) and Luxury Yachting MedAire platforms. MedAire also comprises of commercial aviation – gate screens, crew support and inflight calls.
In her free time, Emma originally from Wales, is very active – she loves the outdoors and anything associated with it, whether running, hiking or cycling!
FS Wendy S Finbow-Wright PMRAFNS
Flight Sergeant (FS) Finbow-Wright joined the Royal Air Force in Jun 2001 graduating with a diploma in adult nursing September 2004. With a military career spanning 23 years she has worked within the fields of Defence Rehabilitation, Emergency Nursing, Aeromedical Evacuation Liaison Brunei and Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, RAF Brize Norton. With operational experience she has deployed to Iraq working in the field hospital wards and later in Afghanistan, Emergency Department this led to further deployments on the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) in both Afghanistan and Kenya.
Currently FS Finbow-Wright works as a flight nurse on the Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron based at RAF Brize Norton undertaking repatriation of injured/sick personnel, dependants and the operational management and logistical co-ordination of other Aeromedical Missions.
Rebecca now works as a full time nursing officer for International Medical Group. In addition she continues to work as a part time reserve Flight Nurse for RAF 4626 Aux Squadron and bank with Cardiff and Vale University Board as an ACP in out of hours and staff nurse in ED to maintain clinical currency.
Rachel Benbow
Rachel Benbow is the chief nursing officer(CNO) of international medical group. Before becoming CNO Rachel had, had the privilege in working in various fields of nursing including acute medicine, community nursing, emergency nursing, travel clinics and flight nursing with 4626 RAF reserve Sqn. Following her tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2012 on returning to her role as Sister in the Emergency department Rachel found herself seeking out a civilian flight nursing role, which she found in 2013 and eventually left the NHS and became employed in the assistance industry, becoming chief nursing officer in 2013. Rachel has worked for IMG as CNO since 2016, developing their small case management and repatriation services, to the competitive provider they are today. Rachel is dedicated to her work with IMG, but when she is not working she has a family including, her labrador dog, she spends her time with family walking her dog and enjoying the country life of Herefordshire where she lives.

Registration
Registration commences at 9am. On arrival, please make your way to the 绿帽换妻 registration desk which will be clearly signposted. You will be issued with conference materials, including a certificate of attendance and a name badge.
Programme
A copy of the programme is available to view online and will also be provided on the day.
An e-conference brochure which includes talk summaries, learning outcomes and speaker biographies will be available on the day.
Lunch and refreshments
Lunch and refreshments will be served at the time specified in the programme. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please inform us in advance so we can ensure your needs are catered for.
Specific requirements
A prayer room and breastfeeding room will be available.
If you have any other specific requirements (e.g. hearing loop etc.), please inform us in advance so we can ensure the appropriate arrangements are in place.
Presentations
Presentations we have permission to share will be made available to delegates approximately 1-2 weeks post-event.

Cancellations and substitutions
Cancellations received one week before the start of the event will be refunded, minus a £25 administration fee. Regrettably, no refunds can be processed after this date.
