Life as a Consultant Nurse and Clinical Director
A nurse as a Clinical Director (CD) is uncommon in most organisations. I therefore consider my appointment to interim CD is as much a testament to the foresight and bravery of my line managers, as it is about my skill to perform. Eight months into this role, I reflect on my day to day experience.

Childhood brain tumour and education
I have worked in Paediatric Neuro-oncology nursing for over 20 years and the longer I work in this field the stronger my belief that we need to do more to support children with brain tumours access meaningful education.

Listening event on the Hughes report publication
The Hughes report follows a review by Baroness Cumberlege (鈥楩irst do no harm鈥� 2020), commissioned by Mr Jeremy Hunt when he was Health Minister, that separately reviewed outcomes of three historical health interventions - pelvic mesh, sodium valproate & Primodos. One of the outcomes from the Cumberlege report was to appoint a Patient Safety Commissioner who would take forward the recommendations from the Cumberlege review.

This blog has been submitted by a member who wishes to remain anonymous, for reasons that will become clear as you read it. Bullying is a common phenomenon for nurses, with around a quarter of the nursing family experiencing bullying in the past year. This blog highlights my personal experience of 鈥済aslighting鈥� - a specific type of bullying, and how I am gradually recovering from this.
